"We have a rescue that had not ever been trained or socialized (Lab retriever) and she loves to shred blankets, pillows, anything soft and fluffy. After going through multiple cheap fluffy crate pads we got this. It's been perfect for her. I provides adequate orthopedic support and softness without being TOO soft and fluffy (which in my experience having several rescues just starts that "must destroy!" destuffing urge). She licked an sniffed at the corners but as they are vuilt so there is nothing for her really to grab onto, she just lost interest, and settled in to sleep, all comfy. We can leave her in the crate with the pad for several hours (not often, I'm retired) and she is still all happy and curled up on it when we return. - My crate measurements are 42 long by 24 wide. What size would you recommend?
- The XL would fit. It's designed to fit 42" crates.
- Is the water resistant crate pad good for outdoor use in a carport? Mildew resistant? Our pooch likes to hang out in the carport with us ( we smoke outside) I'd rather he not lay on dirt and rocks.
- It can be used outside. I'd recommend frequent washing of the cover though if it's outside.
- Please advise on the layered construction of the chew-resistant crate pad. Specifically, is there an inner cover to protect against irreversible water damage to the memory foam? Thanks.

- RE: The Chew-Resistant Crate Pad. It need a pad to fit the 42-inch crate. This is a X-LARGE pad in your sizing. However, neither the gray (preferred) or tan X-LARGE pads resolve to the cart. Are they discontinued, or simply out of stock? Please advise on availability. Thanks.
